Why Strength Training?
In the absence of regular strength exercising, muscle fibers simply become
weaker and smaller at a slow but consistent rate through a process called
disuse atrophy, the same process that occurs to a broken arm
that has been put into a cast. Not a pretty sight.
And because our muscles directly affect our metabolic
rate, disuse atrophy has important weight gain and weight loss
implications. Only by regular strength exercising can one achieve
and maintain a lean body, setting the stage for easier and more
effective weight management.
Whatever your goal - from looking better to feeling better - a
stronger body through proper strength training is the first step to
success. In the Genesis Personal
Training Program, strength training is delivered through
a series of bio-mechanically precise exercise machines specifically
designed to target, isolate, and strengthen all the major muscle groups of the
body.

by one of our certified Genesis Exercise Instructors. And as a

Aerobic Activity
At Genesis Personal Fitness®, we
view aerobic activity as an extension of the cardiovascular endurance
developed during the strength exercise portion of our
program. Aerobic exercise, also known as 'cardiovascular'
exercise, is characterized by continuous large muscle activity such as jogging,
cycling, brisk walking or climbing exercise activities.
Aerobic exercise stimulates a variety of beneficial cardiovascular
adaptations, and if performed properly is an important factor in
"burning" excess stored calories on our bodies called body
fat.

offer a complete 7-stretch program using patented,
"strain-free" technology that facilitates enhanced movement around the knee,

Program is offered in both small group and one-on-one
formats. You begin with an Initial Consultation, a physical assessment,
and weight/body fat analysis. A typical exercise schedule is three
sessions weekly consisting of 30-minutes of strength training followed by 30
minutes of cardiovascular and flexibility exercise.
